Caukin Studio has created a pop-up library with a thatched roof and tropical interior, all this, in East London.
The installation aims to provide a private space for people to read or journal in the hustle and bustle of the city, thus raising awareness of mental health. Visitors to Spitalfields Market can pop into the special building until 24 December. After demolition, the roof will be composted, while the rest of the materials will be sent to Harris Academy Peckham School in South London, where the studio will run workshops on how to recycle the structure.
