The space industry is a great opportunity for Hungarian businesses | ESA x Design Terminal

The distance between space and our everyday lives is much smaller than you might think: the simplest business idea can be a way to conquer the galaxy. With the help of the European Space Agency and the Design Terminal incubation program, Hungarian businesses can now be active participants and winners in this process: they can receive mentoring and a grant of up to €50,000 in the ESA BIC Hungary program.

Hungary has been a full-fledged member of the ESA since 2015. The organization has been actively working with Hungary for six years now to develop Hungarian space activities. This cooperation is now expanding into new spheres: Design Terminal is taking over the representation of ESA’s space activities in Hungary and is now leading the ESA Business Incubation Centre Hungary Programme, which is paving the way for Hungarian businesses to enter the space industry.

The ESA BIC Hungary aims to develop successful space startups and to create and strengthen a space community in Hungary. Startups participating in the program will receive a €50,000 grant, in addition to business mentoring and technical support. The one- to two-year incubation program is open to companies whose product or service is either based on a new technological invention or uses existing technology in a novel way.
