This is what the childhood of André kertész looked like | Capa Center, Budapest

André Kertés, a Hungarian-born artist, is one of the world’s best-known photographers. He created a unique artistic universe through which he also invented the language of modern photographic vision. This time we get a rare look into this special world with the help of a truly personal exhibition.

Kertész spent the summers of his childhood in Szigetbecse, which experiences had a great influence on him. This exhibition entitled André Kertész. His Photographs Donated to Szigetbecse provide a singular overview of the oeuvre. Photographs were handpicked by himself in his twilight years, as a gift to the town that furnished the magical experiences of his childhood. The exhibition opens on June 26 at the Capa Center, the opening can be attended as part of the Night of Museums program series.
