The designers and engineers of Meiji University in Japan proposed a device capable of reproducing all flavors of the world with the help of the five basic tastes. We present you the Taste Gadget!
The operation of Taste Gadget is extremely simple – it can recreate any taste artificially without having to consume food, with just a little lick of the tongue. The device triggers the five basic tastes on the human tongue with the help of LED lighting. Homei Miyashita, the head of the research uses ion electrophoresis in electrolyte gels to reproduce the acidic, bitter, sweet, salty and umami flavors.
