The Moscow-based sxema3d collective collaborated with a local knitwear factory to create panel house pattern pieces based on generative design principles.
The designers selected nearly 10,000 photos of panel houses, from which artificial intelligence averaging was used to create the typical image of the panel. The collective believes that AI is capable to present such unexpected combinations and visual solutions that they wouldn’t have thought of, making them see the system as a full-fledged creative. The pattern was first applied to 3D models, then to scarves, hats, and balaclavas (masks).
