Our Czech friends are preparing for the design event starting on Friday with full throttle: although the event will take place online, there will be no shortage of exciting and diverse activities.
Exhibitions, fashion shows, performances and concerts await those interested in design at this year’s Zlin Design Week. Like many event organizer teams around the world, the Czechs now have to make a big splash in the online space instead of a physical venue—seeing the schedule, they will manage to do so. Most of the events can be visited free of charge, we only have to buy tickets for professional workshops. All other events can be enjoyed from the comfort of our couch for a full week, without any restraints.
From May 7 to 14, we can check out two exhibitions as permanent elements of the event: forty international projects will be presented at an exhibition called “Cooperation”, and to our great pleasure, the Hungarian brand of Adrienn Király and Bálint Szalai, itthon. is among them. (We wrote about them in our series “Artist duo”). As part of the Conference Zlin Design Week, we can learn from the videos of invited speakers, including British creative industry expert David Parrish and vehicle and industrial designer Marek Weidlich. The winners of this year’s Best in Design competition will be announced at a gala starting at 7 PM on Friday.
