The ex-football player has lent his name to countless collaborations, but this time the result is truly special, although probably less people will buy it the end result than, say, his perfumes.
By his own admission, he has a passion for old, classic cars—which is why he teamed up with the Italian luxury car brand to dream up two completely unique models for the first edition of their Fuoriserie Essentials collection. Both models are based on vintage Maserati models, and as an extension to Beckham’s bespoke wardrobe made for him on London’s legendary Savile Row, as they also wanted to convey the same sense of uniqueness and personalisation to Maserati customers.
One of the cars is based on the 1986 Maserati Quattroporte Royale, of which only 51 were made. Beckham has paired it with a dark green (Verde Royale) paintwork and warm brown leather upholstery. The other source of inspiration was slightly sportier: the 1967 Maserati Ghibli coupé was given a midnight blue (Night Interaction) exterior and tan upholstery. Beckham’s design choices will soon be available for all Maserati models through the brand’s new car customisation programme.
