The Hungarian brand Hannabi has been best known for its perfectly customizable sofas: now even more delicate and sensitive home decoration products will appear alongside their high-quality seating and reclining furniture. First among the new additions are their wool rugs.
Anikó Rácz’s “little sofa tailor shop” has successfully strengthened its position in the Hungarian market over the past ten years. With Hannabi, the sofa is not just a comfortable piece of furniture, but the soul of the home —a versatile, ergonomic, aesthetic, and durable “family member” that will stay with us for decades to come, and is made with sustainability in mind.
Hannabi’s range of products already includes some of the lovable objects that can be a practical and comfortable addition to the seating furniture they design. In addition to monochrome, sintered aluminum alloy coffee tables, trays, back and armrest shelves, cushions in various sizes and thicknesses are the perfect “accessories” for sofas to complete busy weekdays and relaxing weekends.
Recently, the brand has been focusing on making more and more similar objects that create a cozy atmosphere around the sofas, in line with Hannabi’s philosophy of designing for life in collaboration with local manufacturers.
The brand’s Japanese-influenced NANA carpets debuted a few years ago—the collection’s clean, streamlined pieces are made by the staff of a small carpet weaving mill in the Great Hungarian Plain, using high-quality, durable materials. The new wool carpets, which are now making their debut, are also made here, in Ferenc Papp’s workshop, using traditional hand-made techniques.
Hannabi’s minimalism is also apparent in the latest collection: the natural beauty and warmth of wool are reflected in the home textiles, which are easy to clean and extremely durable.
To provide visitors with the first-hand experience of the “superpowers” of the new carpets, Hannabi has set up a showroom in the lobby of its Budapest headquarters where anyone can test the finished pieces without prior appointment. Visitors can try out not only the carpets but also the office furniture over a cup of coffee.
Design and home lovers can also see Hannabi products beyond the showroom walls at the S/ALON Budapest Home Trend Exhibition between 24 and 26 September. The SOFT collection’s older and newer introductions— cushions, rugs, home textiles—can be ordered online on the Hannabi website.
