Tallinn railway junction I Zaha Hadid

Zaha Hadid Architects is a well-known guest in Tallin. In 2017 they presented the overall conception of the 2030 renewal of the port, and now they showed the vision of the junction and pedestrian bridge executed in cooperation with Esplan.

Rail Baltica is as ambitious of an idea as the fast rail of Visegrád: the train should travel from Tallinn via Riga, and Vilnius all the way to the Polish border, creating a modern and fast connection between the Baltic and Central Europe.

The “ülemiste terminal” is the most Northern, and the starting point of the fast rail line, this is where the trains would travel towards South, and this will be a junction that defines the city as well, hence a lot of attention was put into the pedestrian traffic too.
