Finnish and Hungarian ceramic artists present their work at the Kiscell Museum

Between 10 October – 28 November 2021, as part of the Design Without Borders exhibition, the Finnish Institute (FinnAgora) and the Helsinki Hungarian Cultural Institute will present the exhibition Találkozások (Encounters—free translation), which seeks to introduce ceramic art from an exciting perspective at the Kiscell Museum.

The exhibited artworks are centered around tea and coffee drinking, reminding the audience about the importance of international encounters and intercultural dialogue. The ceramics exhibition will feature two Hungarian and two Finnish ceramic artists, Pálma Babos, Márton Strohner, Johanna Rytkölä, and Åsa Hellman.

The exhibition previously presented at this year’s Helsinki Design Week focuses on the meeting of art and everyday life, how millennia-old traditions—such as ceramics—find new, contemporary forms of expression, how such objects can become part of our lives and offer new perspectives and experiences.
