Greek industrial declared ultimate winner at hospitality design award show

The most fascinating hospitality design projects were also awarded at this year’s AHEAD Awards 2020: the first place winner was a Greek seaside hotel, without the usual blue and white idyll for once.

The derelict building of Hotel Dexamenes located on Greece’s western Peloponnese coastline used to function as a wine factory, but has been out of operation since the 1920s. Greek architecture studio K-Studio turned it into a luxury hotel by also preserving the original character of the industrial building.

The rusted walls stayed and they even kept the giant tanks of the factory, which gives a unique atmosphere to the luxury hotel otherwise oozing contemporary aesthetics even in the tiniest details.

You can check out our article about the hotel here, and the list of the awarded projects of the competition here.
