The most famous couple in the world of design has already had trainers designed by Reebok, but this time the focus is on one of their iconic pieces of furniture.
Sportswear brand Reebok and design studio Eames Office have released a collection of three pairs of trainers that evoke the character and colors of the now classic plastic chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Named the Reebok x Eames Classic Leather Fiberglass Pack, the line is available in three colors—Pink, Sea Foam Green, and Parchment—the original Eames furniture designed in the 1950s was also available in all three colors. The pattern on the uppers of the shoes echoes the texture of the fiberglass chairs.
Reebok chose the duo not only because Charles and Ray have become design legends in recent decades, but also because the discovery of fiberglass plastic was a major innovation in materials in its day. It completely revolutionized the world of design and furniture making and opened up a whole new dimension of possibilities—an inspiring story for a stylish footwear designed for exercise.
