Nostalgic shapes in a contemporary guise—Roche Bobois’ new collection celebrating the seventies | Solinfo Group

Years ago, they pioneered a Budapest-based downtown lamp store, and their innovative approach has taken them through crises to become the main representative of professional lighting and high-end design in Hungary—the Solinfo Group design empire has been moving forward ever since, as proven by the opening of the first Eastern European store of world-leading furniture designer and distributor Roche Bobois under their auspices in Budapest. The brand is not far from exclusive quality and creativity, and their latest spring-summer collection is reminiscent of the 1970s, where organic shapes and casual comfort prevail.

“At Roche Bobois, we don’t follow trends, we try to stay one step ahead of the rest,” shares Sacha Lakic, senior designer at Roche Bobois, a name that will ring a bell with furniture lovers. In our previous interview, he told us about the iconic Bubble sofa and the brand’s ars poetica, which is reflected in the new collection.

Balancing emotion and practicality, the spring-summer 2023 collection combines exuberant volumes with natural sophistication, favoring responsible design without compromising the design freedom and vibrant lifestyle of Roche Bobois. The color palette is based on natural tones, with a contrast of cool and warm hues, rich ochres, terracotta, and blues. Design pieces are intended to brighten up contemporary homes from the terrace to the living room, dining room, and bedroom. The overall effect is soothing and cooling, making it a welcome homecoming from even the best holidays.

The collection spotlights furniture by Italian designer Maurizio Manzoni, including the spectacular A-PROPOS sofa. The modular sofa combines great shapes with delicate lines. Large cushions on a dark wooden base create a luxurious composition and allow for a variety of comfortable configurations. The brand’s iconic Sense sofa has also been redesigned, with new fabrics and colors available for the wavy design. This summer also features a special focus on colored glass surfaces with special textures, grains, engravings, and cuts. One of the most exciting pieces is the Iroise dining table, with a shimmering top that evokes the surface of water. It invites you to immerse yourself in the carefree atmosphere of summer days!
