A Polish designer in Brazil: oeuvre exhibition of Jorge Zalszupin

Polish-born architect and designer Jorge Zalszupin would have celebrated his 99th birthday on June 1. An important figure in modern design lived most of his life in Brazil, with his characteristic furniture leaving a significant imprint on the design world both here and around the world. In honor of his heritage, the design editorial office and gallery of ETEL organized his oeuvre exhibition in Zalszupin’s own home, designed by him, in which he spent fifty years rich in inspiration.

The curators of the exhibition, Lissa Carmona and Mariana Schmidt, created a momentary and contemporary atmosphere in the home. The house, free from unnecessary decorations, housed Zalszupin’s carefully selected, immediately identifiable works, from architecture to fine art.

The exhibition is both a beautiful commemoration and an opportunity to present and preserve the legacy of Zalszupin to future generations.
