The 15th Gdynia Design Days festival starts off this weekend

The leading festival of the Baltic region, the Gdynia Design Days will be organized between 2 and 10 July this year. The Polish event explores design through a colorful program series: it awaits design, fashion, and architecture lovers with exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and debates. The motto of Gdynia Design Days 2022, EMPASEA, is a return to the roots, to our nearest and dearest, the sea, so this July, the festival’s featured topic will be the Baltic Sea.

At the festival, the discourse will revolve around the sea, touching on topics such as where resources are gathered, and the resources themselves that we need to care for together. The significance of watersheds in the context of climate and economy, identity, and communities originating from coastal areas will also be discussed.

“The sea affects all of us, irrespective of where we live. It’s our shared value, even if our home is inland. Only by working together can we shape the future and change the present. The Baltic Sea has a tangible effect on our lives—and our choices affect the Baltic Sea. We can transform this symbiosis into our strength,” said the festival’s spokesperson.
