The newly-opened The Hoxton Poblenou hotel has taken inspiration from the post-modernist landscapes of the late Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, who passed away earlier this year, for its interiors.
Opened by Ennismore, the 240-room hotel is The Hoxton’s first hotel in Spain. The spaces echo Bofill’s striking visual marks and colorful geometric shapes. Bofill himself converted an industrial building, a cement factory, into his own studio, which inspired the hotel’s designers to use Bofill’s style in the conversion of the building, which was formerly a textile factory. Materials include ceramics, tiles and concrete, and colors include Mediterranean-inspired ocean blue, terracotta, sunny yellow, olive green and pastel pink.
