Sometimes provocative, thought-provoking, at other times poetic or ironic thoughts we can all relate to. We collected labelled t-shirts where story-telling and the message are both in focus. Start getting in the summer mood with graphic tees!
Y Konszept
Y Konszept was launched in 2017, with the combination of recycling, fashion and literature as its basic concept. In her first collection, Eszter-Virág Meyer reimagined denim jackets decorated with the lines of Péter Závada and her own graphics. Since last year, the numbered jackets decorated with quotes, poetry, hand painting and embroidery are also complemented by T-shirts and sweaters under the brand name Y Konszept Signature. This time, the pieces of clothing are decorated with Eszter’s words. The parts of texts displayed on the pieces of the collection originate from the short stories of the designer, but one can also find sentences familiar from Budapest nightlife and humorous expressions on some of the items.
The tees are screen printed by a Hungarian family workshop, and the new pieces are created on orders. Her products are delivered in recycled packaging exclusively in all cases. Currently you can purchase the Y Konszept Signature tees in the gallery of Leanzer Newcraft, where the clothing pieces conveying unique messages were also available in the form of an exhibition under the title “My Feminism”.
Another important thing is that as a result of the situation caused by the epidemic, Eszter donates 10% of her revenues to the bOdyssey project founded by her former teachers, friends and schoolmates, so when you purchase an item, not only can you get a tee expressing your thoughts, but you can also support artists.

Fankapanka
The idea of fankapanka was conceived in 2018, and many “bal elöl” and “diszkó” tees found their owners since then. In the beginnings, the words and thoughts displayed on the tees only recalled expressions typically used in the nightlife, such as the „kivagyok”, „van 1 rágód?” or „többiek?”, but since then, the repertoire was expanded with more everyday-life and funny idioms, such as the „nem hiszlek el” or „adom”. Fanni Szaszák, the founder of the brand embroiders all labels manually, exclusively on T-shirts made out of bio cotton amongst ethical circumstances, which you can purchase in environmentally-friendly packaging.
Check out the brand’s Instagram page or visit Lollipop Factory Budapest design store and grab a Fankapanka tee!

Calabalâc
The basic concept of Calabalâc in Cluj-Napoca comes from a local expression “deszkurkálódás” meaning something like jockeying. The originators of the initiative, Ágota Szilágyi K. and Eszter Rudolf examine how they can recycle old, abandoned furniture and household objects and put them into new context.
As a result of the pandemic, now they don’t bring old furniture to new life, but created their T-shirt collection titled Calabalâc Pandemic, with Eastern European identity and “almost Balkan” traits and sentences infused with self-irony in focus. The humorous tees feature Ráhel Rudolf’s embroidered graphics, including the old lady gossiping in front of the door or the road construction worker sitting and looking bored. The images are accompanied with parts of texts taken from news articles.
If you fancy buying a Calabalâc Pandemic tee, you can order from the mini collection on the Instagram or Facebook page of the project.
