Buffalo London has joined forces with The Fabricant digital fashion house to create virtual sneakers, which we’ll be able to wear exclusively on social media.
The unconventional design was named Classic BurningFor and is inspired by the Classic Low platform shoe model, which was originally popularized by the Spice Girls in the 1990s. The 3D-scanned shoe, as its name suggests, burns with red and blue flames using CGI animation.
The epidemic led to a growing interest in digital fashion: several major fashion houses such as Gucci, Marc Jacobs or Valentino have launched similar products, but these were available in different video games and were worn by avatars.
Although digital fashion items are not a novelty anymore, according to Buffalo London, this is the first time a brand started selling a virtual product alongside their traditional, physical goods. Classic BurningFor shoes can be purchased on the brand’s website and can be worn not only on images but also on videos.
