The Silesia Park recreation complex is located in the heart of the Upper Silesian metropolis of Chorzow, Poland. The vast area—620 hectares—became a park in the 1950s and offers many, many attractions and has preserved many stories over the past seventy years. The aim of the book is to present the area that goes far beyond the many greens in seventy interesting facts instead of boring stories: a zoo, an amusement park, a planetarium and last but not least, interesting architectural masterpieces and their stories hidden in the park and in the pages of the book.
The book includes photos from the period, complemented by drawings, maps and archival documents. The richness of detail in the publication, from the creative concept to the quality of the paper, shows the stories in a fresh tone.
