Wes Anderson designed a train interior this time

The famous director is a huge fan of trains and likes to use them in his films, so the request from the luxury travel company, Belmond, was a natural fit for him: he had to redesign the interior of a 1950s British railway carriage.

The meticulously crafted, original Cygnus carriage was once reserved for use by visiting heads of state. Anderson’s interior is based around the theme of the swan, marked by the swan-shaped champagne coolers. This theme is carried on by the stylized clouds and wave pattern inlaid paneling, all reflected in the silver ceiling. Cygnus departs from London Victoria Station and can be booked for day trips.
