Adidas teamed up with some of the best-known names in the NFT world, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, gmoney and the makers of Punks Comic, to create Into the Metaverse, Adidas’ first NFT collection.
The tokenized Adidas products will be available in The Sandbox world, which has recently partnered with the brand, as well as on other virtual platforms.
At the announcement, Adidas Head of Digital Scott Zalaznik highlighted the great opportunities that blockchain technology offers for brands. He is certainly not alone in this thought, as in recent weeks the Nike and Zara headquarters were buzzing with news of an opening towards the metaverse.
The NFTs went on sale on 17 December, with digital and physical units arriving in 2022 for those who buy them. The physical part of the collection consists of hoodies, sweatshirts and an orange beanie with the gmoney logo.
