The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency acts as a coordinating center for the exchange of information and knowledge between different actors, as well as for the exploration and realization of cooperation opportunities. The importance of this function is clearly demonstrated by the presence of Hungarian fashion brands in Milan this year.
In 2018, the Agency signed an agreement with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italia, under which the Italian fashion chamber is a strategic partner in supporting the development of Hungarian fashion and its entry into the international arena. Thanks to the International Mentoring Programme launched jointly by the parties, a number of brands can showcase at Milan Fashion Week season after season under the umbrella brand Budapest Select, created by the Agency. On the catwalk, four Hungarian brands—ABODI, CUKOVY, Elysian and Kata Szegedi— dazzled the international audience with their collections. During Milan Fashion Week, in addition to the show, the exhibition space of the Fashion HUB also featured the creations of four Hungarian designers—ALMA, Kata Szegedi, NINI and ZIA budapest.
