Enjoying Ukrainian design in our everyday life | i am u are

In March this year, more than 100 Ukrainian artists presented their cultural, technological, and fashion projects in New York. The creative expo, which showcased ancient culture, tradition, contemporary art, and even the latest technological trends, showed the world that Ukraine lives not only in people’s hearts but also in objects. Now you have the chance to buy them on this side of the ocean too, as the online marketplace for Ukrainian designers was launched on August 23!

i am u are’s unusual global-yet-local-fair introduced Ukrainian design this spring in a way never seen before. We have previously reported that the project’s creators, Anna Pagava and Kristina Skipka, founded the event primarily to bring together and strengthen the Ukrainian creative community and show the world the true face of their culture. The fact that we can be a part of it, and not just a distant admirer, is thanks to their latest expansion: at the end of August they launched their new online commercial platform.

The website features the most well-known Ukrainian brands, including the world-famous and elegant BEVZA, Hutsul Avtentyka, that conveys folk values, as well as GUSHKA, and Nadiia. The range is diverse not only in style but also in categories. If you're looking to bring Ukrainian design and art into your home beyond your wardrobe, you can find products from YAKUSH TABLEWEAR, EDERE EDITIONS, and Tverdokhlib Ihor. The i am u are marketplace is an opportunity to help, to consume ethically and ‘culturally consciously’. With each purchase, we can support the whole creative community alongside the creator.

If you would like to contribute to the recovery of Ukraine’s economy and intellectual heritage, please visit the online store.
